My Love For Prima

Creativity is in my blood and designing new products and techniques is my passion. Being a graphic designer and animator earlier, I have experienced two-dimensional and three-dimensional designing. But when I experimented with paper crafting, I somehow experienced my life’s purpose. My creative craving seemed to be quenched with this exquisite and inimitable art form.

On a piece of unspotted, figureless sheet of paper, I got a medium to express my art, my desires, my dreams, my festivities, my blues and my love for nature. I started modifying paper to construct leaves, flowers and shapes. I started using various paints, objects, trinkets with these shapes to construct designs inherent in me. Paper gave me unfathomable expanse to develop textures, images, shapes, borders – making me glued to this romance in paper since last 5 years.

Over these 5 years I have been enamoured with the products and concepts introduced by Prima. I have used many of Prima products in my creations and every new product seems to be better than the previous ones, urging me and my creativity to higher and better challenges.

Having learnt that Prima is looking for DT members seemed to be a challenging opportunity for me. I know I would be in competition with old guards and wonderful designers from across the globe, but I am also confident that my innovative and honest efforts to present something unique to the connoisseurs of the industry would surely make me a contender.

Altered Tin-PASSION BOX

Dear Friends Today I present my latest creation in “altered art” which i created as an inspiration for mixed media warrior challenge #3. A few days ago, while rummaging through my collection of junk (which every artist would have), I came across a tin of Protinex. Its then that I decided to beautify this cylindrical junk into something I (or everyone of you who creates it), would be proud to keep on my table. After creating a base on the box using finnabair art basics black gesso I used sand texture and hue of silk acrylic and dusty attics colors to create a nice box background. To beautify the box I used various small trinkets including threads, twines, bracelet, leaf, feather, paper flowers – merging the trinkets into the background by using similar process of gesso and colors on these. On the box lid, I used Prima flakes to give it a lovely antique look. I was so enthralled on creating it that I appropriately named (and branded it) “Passion Box”. You can use it to store or gift chocolates, cookies or even store your keepsakes, jewelry etc. Would surely create a lovely aura around the place you keep this box.

DREAM & FLY... like a butterfly

Here is my creation for the ColorArte Design Team member.

Whenever I think of expressing my artistic emotions on any medium, I always desire proliferating the message that one has to think out of box, dream like he or she has never done earlier and spread our wings and let our thought fly carefree… Only then would we be able to realize our true potential and give something to the world for which we are made for…

In this creation of mine, I have merged all these feelings. Through this creation I reinforce the message of breaking our mental and physical shackles to dream and achieve something which is not possible if we keep our mind and soul restrained to the societal bondages.

Below is the step by step procedure of how I have created this artistic impression that one should always “Dream…and fly like a butterfly”.

Firstly started working on wooden plank, (in my stash from the last two years, using now finally)

 applied texture paste and crackle paste and then covered it with black gesso

  and then added some embellishments and again applied black gesso.

After applying black gesso started working with ColourArte colours-(just love them )-Silk acrylic glaze fruit punch kit -key lime, yellow rose, iridescent gold and also mixing them with primary element-empress  Mulberry antique violet and golden nugget, i just loved the antique violet shade using for the very first time. And added some glass glitter and glass beads. Here's some close-up pix...

The SPIRIT of MUSIC

Dear Friends

The world would be such a lonely place without Music and Friends. Today I am dedicating this creation of mine to all my lovely friends and to the spirit of music that binds all humanity.

This creation is made combining different media together. Mix Media is the perfect medium to express my creative best as its expanse is unfathomable. The more you enter into this exciting world of Mix Media, the more you fall in love with it.

In this creation, I have used host of techniques – paper,dusty attics colors-tones of coffee colour, trinkets, altered objects, fabrics, threads, finnabair products, silk acrylic colours, beads, flakes, finnabair butterfly stamp – well anything that I feel can fit and make the canvas and my creativity speak.
